Passing Strange

  • Aurora Fox Theater 9900 East Colfax Avenue Aurora, CO, 80010 United States (map)

From the same creative team that brought you “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” at The Aurora Fox comes PASSING STRANGE, a modern gospel/funk/rock coming of age story, reminiscent of Dorothy’s fabled journey to the land of Oz.

Written by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, our young male protagonist leaves the comforts of his mother’s home in South Central L.A. and goes on a soul-searching journey that takes him to the hash dens of Amsterdam and the riot-ridden streets of Berlin, all in search of “the real.”

It’s a beautifully moving journey filled with incredible high-energy music, beautiful ballads and a bevy of characters that help the young man find his way to the “real” that he’s been searching for, even if the results weren’t quite what he had expected.

Winner of the 2008 Tony Award, this highly conceptual musical was hailed as “bursting at the seams with melodic songs” by The New York Times and “a brilliant work” by The New Yorker.
