On October 14, Denver Arts & Venues (DAV) celebrates the cultural heritage that is conveyed through traditional textile work. On the runway, we feature fabrics, textiles and clothing from Africa, Guatemala, Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey. These garments highlight the skills and techniques of dyeing, weaving, sewing and embellishing that have been perfected over millennia, passed down from generation to generation.

THE PLAY: "In the Pocket: The Ballad of Bobby Trombone" takes place at the historical Rossonian Hotel, located at the pinnacle of Five Points, Denver’s historic Black neighborhood. Three employees tell the story of its rich jazz history and how it earned its nickname “The Harlem of the West” (a fictionalized account of historic facts).
FREE- RSVPs encouraged. Donations are welcome to help mount the play in Feb 2023.
